How I Keep My Face Fresh and Clean

Keeping a clean fresh looking face seems to be quite a challenge in this day and age. Most of us live in large polluted cities where the air quality is really bad. Our skin tends to suffer most, which is why it can be so difficult to find the right skin regimen that actually works. I will now share with you a few tips and tricks I learned while trying them out on my own skin. I hope they will help you with getting and maintaining a clean fresh face with ease.



Get the grime off your face before heading for bed

While washing your face first thing in the morning is, without a doubt, one of the most important commandments of a healthy skin and beauty regimen, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of getting rid of all the grime, pollution particles and whatnot before going to bed. Just imagine what your face goes through during an entire day. Even if you are not wearing makeup, you still need to cleanse properly. Here is an extra tip: use lukewarm water to dissolve the grime, since hot water can damage your skin and cold water doesn’t help in this respect. Plus, since you are heading for a good night’s sleep, you don’t want to feel too refreshed that you lose your sleep.



Regular exfoliation

Depending on how sensitive your skin is, you should include regular exfoliation in your routine. This can be pretty invasive, which is why people with delicate skin need to schedule exfoliation no more than twice a month. Here is something I learned that helps me cleanse my face deeper than any cleanser or exfoliating creams: I use a facial steamer. Facial steamers work with hot water vapors that help your pores open, and eliminating all the dirt from your face becomes easier. Some models allow you to add some essential oils that can help with specific problems, such as chamomile for blackheads and tea tree for acne.


Don’t forget to sleep well and eat right

You can do a lot of things on the outside and still not get that glowing complexion you are longing for. Don’t forget that no skin regimen can replace vitamins you take from food and a good night’s sleep. Let your skin rest, and enjoy at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Load your plate with fresh veggies and replace any sugary stuff with fruits. You will look and feel amazing!
